Lower Antelope

This incredible canyon has been created over millions of years by the relentless forces of water and wind, slowly carving and sculpting the sandstone into forms, textures, and shapes which we saw on the tour.

Sun Light Beams occur roughly from 11 am – 1.30 pm, when the sun is at its peakfrom the end of March to the beginning of October. It must be sunny for the light beam; clouds spoil the illumination.

Breathtaking at every turn! The Windows of Waves.

Twin Peaks at lower Antelopes.

Incredible experience at the Lower Antelope Canyon. The sandstone’s formations were mind-blowing

Lower Antelope

Lower Antelope canyon had been on our bucket list for a long time. Lower Antelope was one of the highlights of the entire week of traveling in Arizona. It was bucket list place to be proud of as the beauty of the place exceeds our expectations. This Canyon is so different from other Canyons because it is a Slot Canyon.

The Navajo name for Lower Antelope Canyon is Hasdeztwazi or “Spiral Rock Arches.” This incredible canyon has been created over millions of years by the relentless forces of water and wind, slowly carving and sculpting the sandstone into forms, textures, and shapes which we saw on the tour. Learned one fact that Landscape Photographer Peter Lik sold his print, titled “Phantom,” for $6.5 million November 2014.

The views in Lower Antelope Canyon change constantly as the sun moves across the sky, filtering lights softly across the stone walls. These ever-moving sun angles bounce light back and forth across the narrow canyon’s walls, creating a dazzling display of color, light, and shadow. Lighting can play a major impact best time to visit is in early afternoon and sunny day.

We all left the area with lifetime memories and indeed AWESOME experience! View of the rocks formed by erosion is spectacular! We had a lot of luck. It was a sunny day. The sun was bouncing off the walls and allowed for the most beautiful views. Breathtaking at every turn! The Windows of Waves or Twin Peaks at lower Antelopes.

Nelly our tour guide had interesting facts and helped us all take amazing pictures mostly on iPhone! She took some amazing photos during the tour. It is hard to believe that something like that was there in a natural form. Thank you, Mother Nature! The colors and lighting effects can be amazing with the angle of sun rays. This was an unforgettable experience! So magical and some photos we took is hard to believe colors of rocks as well as stunning formations some of them were smiling Shark, roaring panther, wolf overlooking and sea horse.

We will never ever forget our incredible experience at the Lower Antelope Canyon. The sandstone’s formations were mind-blowing.
